OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!

When most people first meet me they think that I am this girly girl, who likes pink, shopping, shoes, and girly things. Well, they are partly right. I am that, however, I also have a little bit of a tom boy in me. I love football, baseball, cars, tattoos, four wheelers and just hanging out with guys in general. Growing up with men all my life it’s what I’m use to.
The one thing that I love to look at is motorcycles. But when it comes to getting on one and riding it—I am a complete wuss. I like four wheels better than two, and I want a little bit more protection between me and the asphalt because I know that if I hit the road (literally) it will kill me. My boyfriend recently got his motorcycle license and he loves it. So he said that he would take me around his neighborhood on the back of his motorcycle. I was hesitant at first, but I agreed to as long as he keeps it under 45mph. At first I was terrified, but as I got use to being on the motorcycle—I started to love it. Jonathan then asked me if I wanted him to teach me how to ride one by myself, with all the adrenaline pumping through my veins after riding I was absolutely ready.
The motorcycle was really heavy. I am only a 104lb. girl so of course I dropped the motorcycle a couple of times. After I dropped the bike the first time I didn’t want to get back on because it scared me. But Jonathan told me to quit acting like a girl and bulk up. That was it I got back on that bike and even though I didn’t go any faster than 25mph it felt like I was riding at the speed of light. It was such an exhilarating and spine-tingling experience it makes you feel free. My brothers and my cousins laughed when I told them that I rode a motorcycle, because they knew that I have always been scared. But they’ll see when I ride up to their houses on one.
I am still a little afraid of riding a motorcycle but I suppose the more I get use to riding one the less scared I’ll get! Now, I am not going out right away to buy a motorcycle but, I do want to get my motorcycle license just so if one day I do decide to get one I can. Just so Jonathan and I can both ride up to our mountain house. Him on his motorcycle and me on a pink Ninja 650R.

Animal I Have Become

When I first listened to 'Animal I have become' I was kind of surprised because for if I wasn't told that it was by Three Days Grace I would have never known it was them singing this song. In my personal opinion I feel that it was a little different than what I normally listen to from them. Don't get me wrong I really liked this song and I think it took them to a whole new level of awesomeness! Right after Three Days Grace recorded their first album they disappeared for more than a year and then surprises everyone with a new album. They had an all new sound that had a little bit more of a darker edge than their first album. This song is a dark song and it explains exactly how you feel when you’re in a bad mood. Ariel writes "I am never disappointed by this song, as I always have a better attitude throughout the day because of it." Ariel was absolutely right-- I was actually in a bad mood when I listened to this song, and then I got into my car and blasted it over the radio going down the interstate. Songs like that can make a bad mood dissipate even though it talks about being in a bad mood. I find myself always looking for songs that tell how I am feeling or what kind of mood I am in. This song will absolutely go to the top of my angry songs playlist. Ariel said that I wouldn't regret listening to this song--and she was right.

Army Wives

Most people think living on an Army base is just about watching husbands and others go to war, keeping silent, and accepting this as necessary to reality.

Fortunately—or unfortunately—there’s more to it than that. Army life is not just about soldiers and their code of silence anymore. There is an all new code now, and it has been exposed in Army Wives, the highly acclaimed and most watched series on the Lifetime Network.

Why is this show so popular? Why do men enjoy Army Wives just as much as women do? Is it because the show is about real problems that soldiers and their families go through? Or is it because, the hard hitting truth that was hidden behind closed doors is now out in the open?

Everyone has their own opinion about the show and, personally, I absolutely love it—not just because I can relate to a few of the characters, but because it shows that people in the Army not only have to deal with Army life and all the rules and regulations it has, but they also have to manage the reality of life outside the military. Living on an Army base myself for almost two years, I found that it is difficult adjusting to being an average civilian outside the base. Both lives, however, are very nerve-racking and demanding, and trying to balance them both takes skill and patience. In the long run when you go back to living on a base or back to living as a civilian you miss little aspects and perks that each life had to offer. Also having lived on an Army base and watching the show, even though the show is fiction, I know it has a little sense of truth to it, meaning that some of the issues discussed I have either witnessed or overcame myself.

What would be the point of watching a show if all the issues exposed are sugar-coated and are oversaturated with clichés. If that is what you are looking for, then watch a soap opera. I myself would rather see the backstabbing, the gossip, and the pure unadulterated truth that comes with every episode along with the anxiety that builds up each week. Army Wives has the kind of “organic and untouched” portrayal of women that is ironically what women like to gossip and hear about, and men like to watch, and making it about soldiers wives makes the show all the more interesting.

All in all, Army Wives helps Americans understand what other Americans are going thru because of the war. Yeah your gas price may have gone up, but someone just lost a dad, a husband, brother, sister, or friend protecting the freedom that we all take for granted. So on a Sunday night when you have nothing to do, turn on the TV to the Lifetime channel and watch Army Wives and see how different and yet how similar your life and their lives actually are. Who knows you may become addicted to the show just like 9 million others who watch it religiously every week. I know because I’m one of them.
